St. Nicholas' Bowl

From the debris of a storm

Walking through St. Nicholas’ Churchyard, Haxey, Tony Franklin spotted some fallen branches brought down by a recent storm. To this enthusiastic amateur wood turner, they looked ‘interesting’. So he collected them up, took them home, studied them and decided to use them to turn a bowl. Many, many hours were spent working on the bowl and once finished, Tony decided it should be sold to raise funds for the church. After all, that’s where the wood had come from. And the bowl is stunning!

There has been a fair bit of interest in this one-off piece, aptly named the St. Nicholas Bowl, and bids are being invited in a silent auction via St. Nicholas’ Church website contact form. It would make a beautiful unique gift and would be a pleasure to own.

If you would like to make a bid, please  complete the contact form and use the Questions/Comments section to register your bid.
